Alocasia Polly Pink Variegated - Tissue Culture
A highly coveted rare variegated form of the classic Alocasia ‘Polly’, beloved by tropical aroid collectors.
It retains the iconic compact arrowhead leaf shape, deep glossy emerald foliage, and striking pale silvery venation of standard Polly — elevated by breathtaking chimeric blush pink and soft cream variegation. Each new leaf produces completely unique patterning; ranging from delicate pink flecking to large sweeping blocks of pastel colour. No two specimens are identical.
Its tidy, upright clumping growth habit makes it perfectly sized for plant cabinets, shelves and curated indoor plant displays. New unfurling leaves often emerge with richer rosy tones that mature slowly as foliage hardens off.
Care Requirements
☀️ Light: Bright filtered indirect light only. Direct sunlight will scorch delicate pink variegated tissue. Consistent gentle illumination encourages stable pink colouration on new growth.
💧 Water: Allow the top 2–3cm of airy aroid substrate to dry between watering. Use fast-draining chunky mix; never allow rhizomes to sit in stagnant water to avoid rot. Reduce watering through cool New Zealand winter months.
💨 Humidity: Thrives with 60%+ humidity. Elevated air moisture prevents leaf tip browning and supports reliable unfurling of new leaves.
🌡️ Temperature: Maintain steady warm temperatures 18–27°C. Protect strictly from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.
Important Buyer Information
Pink variegation is naturally unstable; marking intensity fluctuates on successive new growth. We cannot guarantee heavy pink variegation on every future leaf.
